What Our Friends Say About Us
To start, I must give a shout out to the fabulous, professional, warm dive crew at Hamanasi. France, Eric, Big Daddy and everyone else made us feel safe at all times while adding humor and adventure to our multiple dive experiences. We truly enjoyed spending hours with them on the boat and during our island breaks. They also gave us valuable diving tips after each excursion that helped us improve our skills. I am a new diver, and my experience with this crew makes me want to expand my certification and return to Hamanasi for more! The resort is simply magical. Everyone knew our names, asked about our daily adventures, made us laugh, and treated us like family. Our treehouse room was beyond beautiful. The restaurant food was spectacular, and the pool area was chill and serene. We especially enjoyed giving resident cat Mango daily scratches (he was most friendly when his food bowl needed a refill!). Although many guests get the full meal plan at the resort, I recommend you save some dinners for the fantastic Chef Rob’s Gourmet Cafe down the street (reserve his chef tasting dinner) and karaoke night at Ella’s in town (the food there is also fresh and delicious). And don’t forget to stop by Black Orchid Ice Cream in the afternoon after an excursion. A perfect vacation!
Beautiful resort with excellent service. It was a highly organized operation. The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. I felt very relaxed here and also was able to enjoy the adventures. I was particularly impressed with how the Hamanasi staff were able to accommodate dietary needs, with variety and great flavor! Vegan meals were not an afterthought. I would definitely come back and I don't normally like to go to the same place twice!
I cannot say enough good things about this resort and will continue to recommend it to friends looking for a tropical paradise and exceptional scuba and snorkeling experience. This is our second visit and I did not think they could top our first trip, but they did. The grounds are impeccably maintained. The surrounding village is friendly and safe. The staff, from the front desk, to the maintenance crews, to the restaurant team, to the bartenders, to the housekeeping, to the adventure center planners, to the amazing guides, all perform their jobs beyond expectations. Their pride in their local heritage and eagerness in sharing their culture with any guests willing to learn about the Garifuna, Mayas, and Mestizo from on site guests, to special menu items added a fascinating and colorful element to a simple diving and hiking vacation. Once we planned our day trips, the staff took care of all the details so all we had to do was show up, even down to reminding us to preorder lunch on days we may have scheduled things a little tightly. I have to give a special shout out, however, to the incredibly professional dive crew. Our 12 year old was making her first "real" dives in the open ocean, rather than a dingy, cold harbor, and the crew made her experience one she will never forget. Rather than dismissing her as an easy to ignore quiet kid, they treated her with kindness and respect, remembering her name and making sure she was always excited about getting into the water without any fear. From loading the boat, to finding just the right spots given the sometimes unpredictable weather, to ensuring safety both in and out of the water, to their knowledge of the reefs and the various marine life and willingness to go above and beyond helping us locate various critters, to their help in hunting invasive lion fish, to their constant good humor and friendliness, to their care in ensuring we respected the fragile ecosystems and knew just when to swim up to avoid kicking the coral, to wrangling and maintaining of all of our gear with care before and after our excursions, they are true professionals who help Hamanasi deserve the "dive" in their title as an Adventure and Dive resort not just in name but in practice. I'm sure I am forgetting some names, but some real standouts from the boats are Brian, Evan, BJ, Elmer, Beaver, Valentine, and of course France who gets a special recognition for turning what could have been a rather anticlimactic last day of snorkeling in low visibility due to storms into a fascinating lecture on various marine life we never would have even noticed without his eagle eyes (the octopus was especially cool) and a great informational session on the harvesting and uses of coconuts. I would not have imagined that topic could be so interesting, even to a kid, but somehow he pulled it off making our last day on the coast one to remember! We will definitely be back! Perhaps once the kiddo has her advanced dive certification so we can finally tackle the famous Blue Hole!
Our 15th wedding anniversary at Hamanasi Resort was pure magic! From the moment we arrived at the airport, we were treated to a world of luxury and tranquility. The resort's stunning natural beauty, coupled with impeccable service, made it an unforgettable experience. The staff at Hamanasi truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The personalized attention to detail was truly noticed and really made us feel right at home. We booked a Deluxe Treehouse, which is a private oasis surrounded by lush greenery, making it extremely private and remote from the main buildings of the resort. The spacious and well-appointed room provided the ultimate comfort and relaxation. For diving enthusiasts, Hamanasi is a dream come true. The experienced dive crew guided us through crystal-clear waters, revealing a vibrant underwater world filled with colorful coral reefs, diverse marine life, and thrilling encounters with fish, nurse sharks, moray eels, crabs, lion fish, manta rays, sea turtles, and jelly fish. This is definitely concierge diving, as they take care of everything for your diving needs. The crew will clean and store your gear in the drying room for future dives so you can truly enjoy your vacation. When it came time for dining options, the resort's talented chefs crafted exquisite meals we were treated to a new culinary adventure, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients and innovative flavors. As a part of the all-inclusive package, you get breakfast, lunch, and a 3-course dinner each day. The dinner menus are different each night to ensure you don’t have the same cuisine twice. There are also bar snacks and happy hour, as alcohol is not included but very reasonably priced. Hamanasi offers a wide range of exciting activities for every traveler. We explored ancient Mayan ruins, trekked through lush rainforests, canoed down a river, and soared through the canopy on a zipline tour. The resort's serene pool, private dock, and paddleboards provided the perfect opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation. Our stay at Hamanasi was one of the best vacations we have ever been on, and it is highly worth the price and all the planning that went into it. I highly recommend this paradise to anyone seeking a truly unforgettable getaway. We will definitely be back!
Congratulations! You can stop you resort search now. Our stay at Hamanasi Adventure and Dive Resort was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, everything from the lush, intimate grounds to the warm, attentive staff set the tone for an unforgettable experience in Belize. This resort is perfect for travelers who want real adventure paired with genuine downtime. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the food was consistently excellent, and the overall vibe struck that rare balance of laid-back luxury and authentic local charm. We packed our days with experiences like the jungle canoe, Mayflower waterfall hike, snorkeling, and the Mayan tour, each led by incredibly knowledgeable guides who stayed with us the entire time, sharing history, answering questions, and making sure everything ran smoothly. You never feel rushed or herded; it’s thoughtful, personal, and well-run. One of the best surprises was how small and quaint the resort feels. You truly get to know the staff (they greet you by name every time you walk into a room) and even connect with other guests in a relaxed, social way. The pier became our favorite hangout—lounging in hammocks, spotting manatees, and watching the sunrise over the water was pure magic. A quick note for planning: this is not a resort I’d recommend for families with young kids. There isn’t much for them to do, and at times it can disrupt the otherwise serene, adventure-focused atmosphere that most guests are there for. All in all, Hamanasi is a 10/10. If you’re looking for a place that delivers unforgettable adventures, incredible service, and a peaceful, authentic setting you won’t find better. I couldn’t recommend it more.
This is the second time we have stayed at Hamanasi. This is an absolutely amazing resort that is small, intimate where everyone addresses you by name and you have the opportunity to meet others, but grand enough to offer so many amenities and activities. We cannot say enough about the first class service, location, food, staff, and eco-friendly and knowledgeable guides. I can’t imagine traveling to Belize and staying anywhere else!
Exceeded all of our expectations. Gorgeous property, warm and friendly staff, knowledgeable tour guides, great food, no crowds, nice beach and great activities to book, or not, both jungle and reef.
